My desktop background is a picture I took in a bar in Zurich, Switzerland, some time ago. It’s a sentence saying “What would you do if everything was possible?”
Every day, this picture reminds me to think in options and opportunities, not in limits and risks.
Especially in a situation like now – that is pretty challenging – I think that staying positive is very important. We all know the phrase “In the midst of every crisis lies opportunity”. Now we have the opportunity and the duty to embrace it.
Of course, everyone of us knows people who are hit hard by the situation. But still: Complaining is not an option. Let’s make the best out of it.
Let’s use the time to be productive in a different way. Let’s challenge yesterday’s approaches. I had to cancel some very important face-to-face meetings and do videoconferences instead – and guess what: It worked very well. That’s how I got back some 20 hours of traveling time in the last two weeks that I could use for productive work. I could work without interruptions for hours – it was great.
Let’s use the time to study and learn. To think outside the box. To find out if our direction is right before we start again to run faster.
Let’s use the time to find out together if the hydrogen economy can be an opportunity for your company. Yes, I have found out that our hydrogen strategy consulting workshops work very well via videoconference. Of course it is different from being in a room with 10 people. But doing nothing is not an option. The Asian are ramping up their economy again, thereby ramping up their hydrogen projects as well. Either you find a solution for your company or the train leaves the station without you.
